The average attendance during the 2008 - 2009 school year was 94.9%.
Arrangements for Admission
Following selection according to the criteria applied by the Board of
Governors, the new entrants are notified by the NEELB. Up-to-date
relevant information is posted to successful applicants, including
details of uniform and arrangements for induction at the end of August.
A meeting is held in the school at the end of June for parents of
successful applicants. Induction Letters are sent to parents confirming the times at which new pupils should attend for induction. They have the opportunity to meet their class tutors, year heads and classmates; to obtain timetables, books and stationery; and are shown around the school. This reduces apprehension and provides clear directions to the pupils for their introduction to a new environment. An induction programme is followed which enables the pupils to get to know their classmates and to make new friends. Class tutorials take place weekly during which the class teacher will follow an organised scheme of work designed to familiarise the pupils with the organisation and expectations of the school.
