Introduction to Larne Grammar School from the Principal

Welcome to our website.

For over 100 years Larne Grammar School has been providing education for children aged 11 to 18.

Education can be defined in the broadest sense with students enjoying success not only in examinations but also in a range of Literary, Mathematical and Science competitions as well as Public Speaking, Debating, Drama, Music, Sports and the Arts. Students are encouraged and challenged to make the most of their individual potential in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Children learn best when they are happy so every effort is made to provide the support that they need. There are excellent staff/pupil relationships within the school and a great deal of effort has been taken in developing an effective and caring pastoral provision.
 
We attempt to ensure that when pupils leave the school they have a highly developed sense of moral values and that they have matured into confident young adults prepared to take their place in this rapidly changing world.

Everyone leads such busy lives that there appears to be less time for enjoyment, relaxation, thinking and reflecting. We see the community which is Larne Grammar School as providing a vehicle for these essential activities.

AQE Assessment Arrangements - Transfer 2011
